Do your find yourself frustrated because of your dog’s behavior? This means it’s training time! The more time and effort you are willing to devote to training your pet, the better results you will see. The piece that follows is sure to get you off to a good start with training.

Be Innovative

You can try a little bit of ingenuity if you are going with crate training for your indoor dog or puppy. If your pet is nervous about the crate, consider putting a toy or treat inside to motivate them to go in. The puppy will want to enter the kennel to retrieve the treat. When he finally goes into the crate to retrieve the toy, shower the dog with praise.

Reward Good Behavior

Rewarding your dog properly and generously is important when it comes to training them. It is essential that your dog get treats at the proper times and in the correct amounts. If you do not give the treat right away, your dog is not going to understand why you are rewarding it.

Be sure to keep your dog active and engaged a great deal of the time. Dogs are easily bored. Dogs with no enthusiasm will be harder to train than active dogs. Dogs are more inclined to obey when they are regularly taken out for exercise and happily accepted as a member of your family. A long walk or a brisk run are great ways to get rid of some of your dog’s excess energy.

Never tie two or more dogs in close vicinity to one another. The chain from one dog could wrap around the second and the dogs could get hurt trying to get free. It can even be fatal if you tie a large dog up with a small dog, and the large dog ends up getting a chain wrapped around the small dog’s neck.

Taking time out to teach your dog properly will let you relax and enjoy your pet more. It often feels as though your puppy will never learn, but results come quickly. By using this advice, you can successfully train your dog.
